Situated some 200km off Italy’s southern coast, Lampedusa has hit international headlines in recent years as the first port of call for hundreds of thousands of African and Middle Eastern migrants hoping to make a new lifestyles in Europe. Rosi spent months residing at the Mediterranean island, capturing its history, subculture and the present day everyday fact of its 6,000-sturdy nearby populace as hundreds of migrants land on its beaches on a weekly basis. The resulting documentary focuses on 12-12 months-vintage Samuele, a nearby boy who likes to hunt with his slingshot and spend time on land despite the fact that he hails from a tradition steeped inside the sea. tt3652526
